Spain is not amused. A paella sandwich produced by British supermarket giant Testo has put Spain on the warpath with even the Guardia Civil tweeting that it is is very bad taste!
The Guardia Civil, on national paella day, took a tongue in cheek swipe at the British sandwich claiming that it was a disgrace. Other top chefs in the country have joined the chorus of protest claiming that this was no way to treat the country´s finest.
Tesco first launched the paella sandwich some years agp but the issue is back on the table with the culinary word in Spain queuing up to take a bite at Britain´s treatment of its most famous dish. Thisis not the first time that Spain has protested to Britain over the paella.Top chef Jamie Oliver used chorizo in in one of his recipes for paella which led to a natiional outcry.
