Covid infections continue to rise in the Balearics

After week with more than 200 cases a day in the Balearic Islands, the coronavirus figures are still on the rise.

203 new infections have been confirmed in the Balearic Islands in the last 24 hours; 50 patients are on the Covid ward and 13 patients are in the ICU, but there are no new fatalities, according to the Ministry of Health.

The positivity rate for 2,566 people who underwent diagnostic tests in the last 24 hours is 7.91%.

The ICUs remain the same, with a total of 13 active cases and hospital admissions are down by 3 compared to the previous day.

21 patients have been discharged from hospital in the last few hours and Primary Care has confirmed that another 123 patients have overcome the disease.

The Ministry of Health is caring for more than 2,246 coronavirus patients in the Balearic Islands.

168 new infections were diagnosed in Mallorca, 36 patients are on the Covid ward, 8 are in intensive care and 1,405 patients are convalescing at home or at Government authorised accommodation.

5 new infections were diagnosed in Ibiza, 5 patients are on the Covid ward, 4 in the ICU and 240 are convalescing at home.

30 new infections were diagnosed in Minorca, 9 people are on the Covid ward and 536 infected are convalescing at home.

2 people are being monitored at home in Formentera.
