A total of 1.7 million people watched the second series of The Mallorca Files which was shown on BBC1 last week, according to viewing figures announced this morning.
The six part series, which was filmed in Mallorca last year, had a 22 percent share of the TV audience during the early afternoon time-frame.
The good viewing figures could mean that the BBC will commission a third series.
